Tony Hawk's Underground (UE)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004 (UE)

The save types are obviously PATCHED (as you can see from the information taken from coolhj's GBATA). So my question is why do these game's CRC32 appear as *clean* dumps in the GBA NoIntro Dat? Were these games patched by the developers (which means that they are REALLY 100% as the original) or were they patched by the release group (which means that they are actually NOT clean)?
coolhj » 2003-12-15 13:43:41

They are patched by the release gruop, not clean.
The clean version is not out yet.
lessram » 2003-12-15 19:49:34

Are they really clean ? Or a Patched version of a patched version ?

@Dopefish:
Now that you are not sure these two roms are redump,they will still remain in the bad dump list and marked on "Fix removed". Anyway,thanks for the patch you made.
NGEfreak » 2003-12-16 08:08:02

Okay, this fix removing and remove stuff that looks strange should be stopped. This will only leads to more hacked roms. We should only add real redumps and not hack roms even more.
I suggest not to change these roms and change the following roms back.
King of Fighters EX, The - NeoBlood (U)
Go! Go! Beckham! - Adventure on Soccer Island (E)
Speedball 2 - Brutal Deluxe (E)
Driver 2 Advance (E)
Santa Claus Jr. Advance (E)
Justice League - Injustice for All (U)
Rocky (U)
Castleween (E)
Medabots - Rokusho Version (E)
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (U)
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Children - Puzzle de Call! (J)
Shrek - Reekin' Havoc (U)

In the previous patch I made a stupid mistake, because I changed the internal name of AGB-BTOE-USA without fixing the complement. The new patch DOES NOT change the internal name, so that the complement does not need to be fixed. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. This won't happen again in the future!
AGB-BTOE-USA -> CRC32: 1F5149BC
AGB-BTWE-USA -> CRC32: 0E38108B

---

@coolhj: AGB-BTWE-USA is 1000% as the original with my patch! I swear to God!!! The only thing about AGB-BTOE-USA that is still making me sick is the internal name (THUGTHUGTHUG) and the string at the end... everything else, i.e. the EEPROM Patch is completely fixed!

@NGEfreak: You're right, but then you or anyone else should take a look at releases AGB-BLKP-EUR and AGB-BCNP-EUR. The string "saiboku!" is at the end of AGB-BLKP-EUR and it was removed in AGB-BCNP-EUR!!! Which is the *clean* one then? I've now seen that this strange string is also in AGB-A5NJ-JPN!
coolhj » 2003-12-16 15:00:33

So Dopefish you mean AGB-BTWE-USA is a real redump,right? If yes,you have done a good job!
For AGB-BTOE-USA, as NGEfreak said , we should only add real redumps , so this rom needn't and shouldn't be changed until the real redump is out.
For those strange string ,at present we keep it in the rom.because we don't know whether it belongs to the original rom.When one day one of these strange roms is redumped,we will check it out .
For AGB-BCNP-EUR,because it has a intro,when the intro is removed by introremover,the string is removed too.We didn't leave it because we don't want to do more unwanted work.
Dopefish, I know you are a good guy who have checked lots of roms,so please keep this strange rom list, your work will be a great help in the future.Thanks :) )

Concerning the strange string "baisoku!" (and not "saiboku!" as I said before) I made a lot of screenshots of different game titles on which you can see that this string perhaps is some kind of developers signature or cheat.
The games I've taken the screenshots from:
Crash Bandicoot XS (E)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 (U)
Disney's The Lion King (E)
Tony Hawk's Underground (U)
Crash Nitro Kart (E)

I've got a question concerning the "bad roms list":
Why some games still in it? Aren't they clean or aren't there any redumps available to confirm or was the list simply not updated for a long time and the mentioned roms are confirmed clean? I'm a little confused now, because I thought that these games are OK...
NGEfreak » 2003-12-17 12:46:31

The bad roms list isn't up to date. All listed roms aren't confirmed good roms and are probably bad.
I'll update the list soon. Maybe. :)
Dopefish » 2004-02-09 20:38:53

I can herewith confirm the CRC of the following titles that are marked as "fix removed" in NGEfreak's bad roms list:
Driver 2 Advance (E) -> CRC: B24FA448
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (U) -> CRC: 308BA69C1
