I started this project after being annoyed that the only place I could listen to Genesis music were the low quality recordings off of emulators that are common on youtube. At first, the recordings were only for myselft to listen to, but I decided to make them public.
All tracks are recorded off of my VA2.3 model 2 Genesis (YM2612) fitted with an unfiltered MegaAmp audio circuit unless otherwise stated. All music is available in either 24-bit 96KHZ FLAC or 320kbps 48KHZ MP3."
"The audio from pre-2018 albums was recorded at 96kHz from my motherboard’s (Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3) audio input. Later recordings come from the audio on an Asrock Taichi AM4 board."
"I tried to get the best quality I good, but analog recording isn't always perfect.
I targeted a runtime of about 2 minutes for each track unless they ended automatically or were very short loops. I made each track fade out smoothly, but didn’t use filters, or any other effects unless necessary.
The tracks are named as they appear in the sound test unless I know for certain what they’re called. I won’t be doing all the little sound effects, just the music and other short tunes."
