Please ignore 1340, 2504, 4194 and 5049. These are accepted (to be implemented on next update) as per a previous discussion.

Current name: 0829 - Deutko Sseugo Chinhaejineun - DS Yeongeo Sammaekeong (Korea)
Suggested name 0829 - Deutgo Sseugo Chinhaejineun DS Yeongeo Sammaegyeong (Korea)

"듣고" pronounce like "Detgo" "ㄱ" canbe "k/g", in this case, it should be "g".
Same goes to "Sammaegyeong"
Anonymous » 2010-07-21 16:58:04

current: 0992 - Powerful Proyagu Begins (Korea)
suggested: 0992 - Powerful Pro-yagu Begins (Korea)

in korean basically you should put a space between nouns, but some words, like "프로야구", used so often and so familliar can be regarded as a one word.

so basically "proyagu" has no problem, both "proyagu" and "pro yagu" are correct.
"pro-" is short for english word "professional" and "yagu" is combination of chinese letters(means this is english/korean combined word).
so to keep the consistency with 4939 - Figure Princess - Dugeundugeun Skating - Geum-medaleul Noryeora! (Korea)
Geum is from chinese letter, medal is from english, eul is a korean particle.

1. "Proyagu" and "Geummedaleul" or
2. "Pro-Yagu" and "Geum-medaleul"

1,2 both are correct, so it's your choice

current: 1306 - Malang Malang Dunwe Gyosil (Korea)
suggest: 1306 - Mallang Mallang Dunoe Gyosil (Korea)

first you need "ll", "말랑" have two "ㄹ" and both are pronounced clearly.
and I think "Dunwe" is a typo "Dunoe" is correct one
Anonymous » 2010-07-21 17:17:43

current: 1307 - Shichidasik Unwe Danryeon Super Brain (Korea)
suggest: 1307 - Shichidasik Unoe Dallyeon - Super Brain (Korea)

actually "시치다" should be "Sichida". but it's a person's name and japanese(he is a famous japanese profesoor maybe? I don't know him). so like "mario" or "laton". "Shichida" has no problem.
and again not "Unwe", "Unoe" is correct one, "뇌" should be "noe"
for "단련", "단" alone is "dan" and "련" alone is "Ryeon" but "단련" should be "Dallyeon". pronounces just like that. I've explained enough of this at previous posts

and "-" befoe "Super Brain" the name of the rom is not one sentence. rather like
main title/sub title. so I suggested to put a hyphen between them.

original: 1432 - 별의 커비 - 도팡 일당의 습격 (Korea)
current: 1432 - Byul ei Kirby - Dophang il Dang ei Seup Gyuk (Korea)
suggest: 1432 - Byeorui Kirby - Dopang ildangui Seupgyeok (Korea)

"별" is "Byul". "의" is "Ui", but "ui" is a particle. so "Byului" is used like one word. and again here, "ㄹ" pronunciation changed "l" to "r" before a vowel.
"도팡" is "Dopang", this suppose to be the name of villain in the game, but when I checked name of other p/clone roms, "Dorotche" for japanese rom, "Squeak" for USA, "Mouse" for Europe. so unless they use the name "dophang" for a name of main villain in english roms game text, it should be "Dopang".(I couldn't check the game contents).
"일당의" is one word + particle, and with correct romanization, this should be "ildangui"
"습격" is also one word and with correct romanization "Seupgyeok"

suggest: 1942 - Sarainneun Yeongeoro Ganghaejineun Siljeon! DS Yeongeo Sammaegyeong (Korea)

"살-아-있-는" is "Sal-A-It-Neun" but as a one word, this should be "Sarainneun"

current: 2504 - Jjangguneun Mosmallyeo DS - Alssongdalssong Keureyong Daejakjeon! (Korea)
suggest: 2504 - Jjangguneun Monmallyeo DS - Alssongdalssong Crayon Daejakjeon! (Korea)

I know I told about "monmallyeo", and did enough explanations.
I found another problem, it's "크레용". this is from foreign word "crayon"
so I think this should be changed again XP
(like other english-originated words)

current: 2539 - Pinky Street - Kira Kira Music Hour Sinnaneun Daenseubaeteul (Korea)
suggest: 2539 - Pinky Street - Kira Kira Music Hour Sinnaneun Dance Battle (Korea)

"댄스배틀" is merely koreanization of english "Dance Battle".

current: 2540 - Maeilmaeil Deoukdeo! DS Dunoe Training (Korea)
suggest: 2540 - Maeil Maeil Deoukdeo! DS Dunoe Training (Korea)

actually "Maeilmaeil" and "Maeil Maeil" both are correct. but there is another rom.

0822 - Maeil maeil - DS Dunoe Training (Korea)

so it's better keep the same attitude. and rom 2540 is the successor of 0822

P.S. "Maeil" means "everyday" "Maeil Maeil" means "EVERYDAY!!", "Deoukdeo" means "more(harder)", "Dunoe" means "Brain"

current: 2588 - Cho Yeolhyeolgogyo Kunio-gun Pigu Bu (Korea)
suggest: 2588 - Cho Yeolhyeolgogyo Kunio-gun Pigubu (Korea)

actually we dont need hyphen between "Kunio" and "gun" but "kunio" is the name of main character in the game and it's from japanese, so no problem with the hyphen.

and YES "Pigu Bu" means "Dodgeball Club" but it's a one word "Pigubu" as all three letters "피(pi)구(gu)부(bu)" is from chinese letters.(don't even need a hyphen)
피(pi) means dodge, 구(gu) means ball, 부(bu) means club.

suggest: 3070 - TOEIC DS - Haru 10-bun Yakjeomgeukbok +200 (Korea) [b]

"ㄱ(g/k)" pronounces as "k" at the end of a word, so it's "Yakjeomgeukbok"

current: 3532 - Annyeong! Hamtori - Hamtoriwa BanggaBangga Chingudeul (Korea) [b]
suggest: 3532 - Annyeong! Haemtori - Haemtoriwa BanggaBangga Chingudeul (Korea) [b]

"햄토리" should be "Haemtori". this is the name of main character in the game. but it's not like other case, they took the idea that "make a name from hamster, and it should be cute and childlike", and they created new korean name for the main character.(though it sounds simillar to japanese name hamutaro or hamtaro for english).
if this character is VERY popular like Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic, etc... it could be "hamtaro"
otherwise "Haemtori" is correct I think

current: 3566 - MySims - Sim-deului Wangguk (Korea) [b]
suggest: 3566 - MySims - Simdeurui Wangguk (Korea) [b]

"Sim-Deul-Ui" becomes "Simdeurui". then it looks like Pro-Yagu(0992), Geum-medal(4939), this is eng/kor combo. but not noun/noun.
"심(Sim)" is from english, "들(deul)" make it plural noun, "의(Ui)" is a particle.
so I suggest "Simdeurui"
simillar to "Mariowa",we don't use "Mario-wa"
("Kunio-gun" is jap/kor, noun/noun case)

suggest: 3963 - Sonyeojeok Yeonae Hyeongmyeong - Love Revo!! DS (Korea) [b]

don't need hyphen before "jeok", it's inflection of a noun - "소녀(Sonyeo)" means "girl", to an adjective - "소녀적(Sonyeojeok)" means "girl-like, girlish, as a girl"

"Hyeok-Myeong" should become "Hyeongmyeong". if "ㄱ(g/k)" is a final consonant followed by "ㅁ(m)", pronounce changes to "ㅇ(ng)"

current: 4187 - Mokjangiyagi - Colobockle Station (Korea) [b]
suggesr: 4187 - Mokjang Iyagi - Colobockle Station (Korea) [b]

spacing problem, basically in korean, there should be a space between nouns. unless that two(or more) nouns used so often and could be regarded as a one word.

same goes to
4628 - Mokjang Iyagi - Colobockle Station for Girl (Korea) [b]

current: 4535 - Mariowa Sonic - Vancouver Donggye-olympic (Korea) [b]
suggest: 4535 - Mariowa Sonic - Vancouver Donggye Olympic (Korea) [b]

"Donggye Olympic" - which means "the winter olympics", is clearly two words.
doesn't need a hyphen
but as these two words used together so often, it could be regarded as one word, in that case it's kor/eng,noun/noun combination, then Donggye-Olympic is not completely wrong

it's spacing problem. if you decide no spacing between "Mokjang" and "Iyagi" in 4187 & 4628.
then it should be
4699 - Rune Factory - Sin Mokjangiyagi (Korea) [b]

I know I explained about 1340, 2504, 4194 and 5049.
I also talked about 5075 before.
but as 2504 case, I found another problem.
and I think it would be good to have a full list cause it's HUGE job

P.S. I almost forgot at the start of this post that the names in the first post is all suggestions(corrected names)

1340, 2504 (latest), 4194, 5049 and 5075 already implemented. I will review the rest a a later time ;)

Thanks for your time DoctorJ.
kazumi213 » 2010-08-22 05:17:51

I've applied most of your changes as suggested. There are slight differences due to actual boxart arrangement/spacing.

In example, I've not applied your spacing suggestions on 4723 (Se Gaeui) and 4862 (Gicho Yeongeo) because there is clearly no spacing on boxart. Whether this is grammatically correct or not, it doesn't matter. They should take care of boxart in that case.

Changes for 4187, 4535, 4628, 4699 have not been applied at all. Current titles follow spacing according to boxart and nintendo.co.kr. Specifically for 4535, I see no problem in keeping "Donggye-olympic" since we use "Geum-medal".
