This is an open ticket.

The box art for all regional variants of Aladdin has the prefix "Disney's" as seen on many other Disney licensed games. Therefore, I'd like to purpose the following title change to the parent ROM and its clones:

"Aladdin (Region)" ➤ "Disney's Aladdin (Region)"

Thank you for the suggestion. However, current No-Intro standards specifically says that we are not to use the "Disney's" portion of the name. The standard would need to be amended first.

Thank you for the reply.

While I shall respect the decision and will comply with No-Intro's standards, I can't help but feel curious about this. Wouldn't leaving the "Disney's" part out of the title potentially lead to confusion as to which Aladdin property the title, as is, could be referring to? Admittedly, the Disney adaptation is far better known worldwide, but we can't forget the it was originally a folk tale and that it recieved numerous adaptions throughout the years before AND after Disney's take.

Perhaps. You're not saying anything wrong and you have a point. I personally have zero issue using "Disney's Aladdin" for the title. I don't mind one way or the other as long as we have consistency in the naming. It's just that the standards are the standards and I figure the original decision makers had their own reasons for them. Heck, these days I favor using the game's title screen for the naming, but that's definitely not No-Intro standards.

I can't say how far it would go, but you could petition for a change on the No-Intro forum. I've managed to achieve change a few times on here over the years, despite feeling always like I was a very small person.

Thanks again. :3
