Japanese onomatopoeia (擬音語, giongo) and mimesis (擬態語, gitaigo) words require a major consistency revision across all DATs.
Quite some time ago I performed some research on the "correct" romanization (with/without spacing, hiphenation yes/no, CamelCasing) for them and couldn't find any definitive answer.
My opinion is: since these words have their own meaning as a whole: i.e.
どきどき, dokidoki
body function
palpitating, throbbing
onomatopoeia
heartbeat
mental state
a thumping heart (of fear)
mood
nervous, pounding heart
they should be romanized: Dokidoki, Wakuwaku, Kirakira, etc
