Priority of languages...
|Argument: Naming , Reference: 2072 , Closed by: root|

According to the order of the languages, shouldn't the name be "2072 - Tabaluga sauve le monde vert (Europe) (Fr,De)" instead of "2072 - Tabaluga - Grunland in Gefahr (Europe) (Fr,De)" ?
There is a french box, if you ask...

We don't assign titles based on "languages tag" order. That arbitrary order is based on how common the languages are present in games, more or less.
This game has an (Europe)-linked serial, so we tag it as (Europe). Ideally we should use the English title, but an English boxart for this serial doesn't exist. Since the only available/supplied with release boxart at release time was German, we used the German title to ensure some accuracy.
Now, assuming the French boxart that you've found is the one used for serial [YTQX] (this release), what language should be used for title, French or German?
On this case I will keep the German one (current): game defaults to German language when the BIOS is set to a language other than French or German.

"This game has an (Europe)-linked serial, so we tag it as (Europe)."
That's not quite a 'No-Intro' standard though. If you take for example:
0956 - Best Friends - Hunde & Katzen (Germany) (En,De)
you have it regioned as Germany but with a (P) serial AHJP
Now I'm not disputing the fact that it is probably a German Cart, but this is exactly where No-Intro 'standardisation' fails. Since it has English, why not just use the 'correct' (Europe) tag with the English name "Cats & Dogs".
In response to the original post, I will agree with kazumi with the default naming - one has to take precedence over the other. However, with the serial YTQX and the fact that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabaluga the green dragon 'got around', I suspect an English (P) serial will turn up.

I've explained this enough. Title and tagging for 0956 is completely reasonable. Consider the family:
HUNDE&KATZEN|NTR-AHJX-EUU|1357 - My Best Friends - Cats & Dogs (Europe) (En,Fr,De,Es,It)
HUNDE&KATZEN|NTR-AHJP-EUR|0956 - Best Friends - Hunde & Katzen (Germany) (En,De)
PAWSANDCLAWS|NTR-AHJE-USA|1477 - Paws & Claws - Best Friends - Dogs & Cats (USA)
HUNDE&KATZEN|NTR-AHJY-EUU|1848 - Best Friends - Mijn Honden en Katten (Netherlands) (En,Nl)
Honestly I don't see any problem with No-Intro naming system. Allows for consistency as long as required info is known, otherwise tries to do its best with valid alternatives.

I checked the serial in stores before I asked my question... ;)

Thanks, I just wanted to know if the language used for the title followed the same priority rules as the order of languages (En,Ja,Fr,De,etc.) or if other rules prevailed... Your explanation makes sense to me...

No problem Tori. And thanks for confirming this game as (Europe).

RE: Cats n dogs
I wasn't disputing the naming as I stated. My response using this example was to your "quote" that I started my reply with i.e. (Europe) being used for europe serials. This example shows that it isn't the case at all and that it is based on languages and other available region dupe cart releases.
