It could be justified based on the San-X title change.

However, contrary to the San-X example "Shugo Chara!" is a proper noun as a whole, used by authors to name its creation. I think is better to respect original titles on these cases.

That's why I didn't report the "San-X Chara" before (I was unsure about that being some kind of TM). However, the release of "San-X Character Channel", using explicit "Character", invalidates the above argument for "San-X Chara".
