According to the box and title screen, this should be pre-fixed with "SpongeBob SquarePants" similar to the euro version use.
So:

Mmmh. I didn't remember my previous title edition. Please check the boxart for #1937. Should I add the "SpongeBob SquarePants" pretitle for both anyway?

Yes. It appears on both box and in-game.
Appologies for my previous 'multiple' suggestions within one post. I am working ROM by ROM renaming and so 1937 is a way off. :) I figured my one by one approach would be less confusing and easier to implement. I forgot that 'on the fly' changes would cause inconsistencies with the rest of the dat.
If you wish, I can keep a log and post in the forums at a later date. Then yourself/high council can accept/decline changes as you choose.
As it stands, there are a number of Jap titles that use the *Star (hosi) as part of the title and is included in the ROM header. Some of these aren't used in the dat while others are. (the conversion being the use of 'x') - I'm logging these rather than reporting suggested changes.
Let me know how you'd like to handle my proposed changes. Clearly I don't want to make more work for you than is necessary.

Yes, you are right about both JPN SpongeBob titles. See i.e. boxart for #2974.
Regarding future suggestions: if you are systematically revising NDS boxarts then I would prefer you to build a list. This has the advantage of giving you and me the "big picture" when making decisions. No need to wait for the final list though. I'd say post suggestions when you have 10-15 of them.
